The sequel to Dawn of Wonder is getting underway. The time needed to complete it will depend largely on the length which, at this point, is unknown.
The sequel should have many similarities to the first book, but there is more urgency to this part of the tale, as anyone who as read the first book would imagine. It was extremely difficult to keep myself from writing this book as the first, with a few chapters to summarise the events of book 1. But then there would have been little space to explore that childhood sense of wonder, that secret place inside that some of us remember well and others only vaguely. I also wanted a big foundation for the relationships, the skills, and the hopes that drive the sequel. Book 2 wants to be a furious expression of some of the deepest cries of the heart, at the same time as a sturdy adventure.
Book 3 is in the wings. With this one, the scale is going to increase significantly, and the mysteries will lead far deeper. There’s a great deal to explore, and I’m itching to pursue the threads that were introduced earlier. That book tugs at my thoughts constantly, like it’s jealous of the time being given to book 2. For me, it’s like trying to manage a couple of kids jostling for attention – not unlike being a teacher again.
Thank you to everyone who has bought the debut. I really appreciate all the support. Without you getting behind the first book, it would be very difficult to complete the second. As it is, the sequel looks to be shaping up well. I hope you’ll find it worth the wait.
Hey there, just another impatient fan waiting for the next piece in your work for this story. Godspeed.
I am very excited for the next books to come out. I read. A lot. I have never check so frequently for a book release. I been checking for the last 2 years and am hopeful for an update? Thank you for this wonderful book and I am looking forward to enjoying more of your writing.
I just figured I’d drop by and see how things were going. While I’m very interested in your next book, I’m also not trying to put pressure on you. I can’t imagine the stress your going through to produce another masterpiece. I’m mainly just checking on any updates. I very grateful for the insight you gave us into your life and the honesty on it. I also wanted to wish you the best in the new year. Be well.
And hopefully 2021 will see book 2 😁
It’s been a few years since Dawn of Wonder came out. I love this book. However, I am sorely disappointed that book two is “still in the works”. I love to read, but hate to wait, especially for years, for a sequel. Please don’t disappoint me and not complete the series and lose a fan for life.
Me too
Waiting for book 2. Anticipating an exciting story line
It was absolutely amazing and definitely entertaining! Loved it!
I loved book one. That was years ago.
It depends on the length of book 3, on how much ground it covers. At this stage, it looks more likely that it will be 4 books.
How many books will be in the dawn of wonder series
Dawn of Wonder was magnificent. Everything I’ve wanted in a fantasy and haven’t gotten since The Dragonbone Chair. Can’t wait for the next. But have been waiting awhile. I know it will be worth the wait. Do it well. Write it right.
I see things are moving forwards if the 4th rewrite percentage is anything to go by. Listening to book 1 (audible) for the second time now and loving it just as much as the first time. Cant wait for the second book, thank you for such a fantastic story (and also thanks to who ever is responsible for getting Tim Gerard Reynolds involved, love him!)
Hi Ken. That’s something we’d only consider after all the test reading and editing are done, and I’m not even sure if I’d be able do it. But I have a question for you. How do you feel about pre-release chapters when there is still a pre-order window? Would you want to read the beginning of an adventure quest if you knew you were going to be interrupted just as it gets going? I’ve never looked at pre-release chapters, so I’m just curious as to what the experience is like? Does the enjoyment outweigh the disappointment when you reach the end of the pre-release chapters?
You’ll find the answer to that here. In short, it’s a huge book.
It’s Jan 2 2020. I just found book one. How can book 2 not be done. Just wondering. Are you ok ?
Have any chapters been released to read prior to the book 2 release date?
